Palate ("we," "our," or "us") is an AI-powered wine recommendation app. This privacy policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use the Palate app.
Information We Collect
Account information: When you create an account, we collect your email address and password.
Palate profile: We store your wine preferences including style, grape preferences, budget range, and tannin preferences. This information is used solely to generate personalized wine recommendations.
Scan history: We store wines you scan, including wine name, producer, region, vintage, price, and match score. This allows us to show you your scan history and cellar.
Images: Wine list photos you submit are sent to our AI provider for processing and are not stored by Palate after analysis is complete.
How We Use Your Information
We use your information to provide personalized wine recommendations, maintain your cellar and scan history, and improve the accuracy of our recommendations over time. We do not sell your personal information to third parties.
Third-Party Services
Palate uses the following third-party services: Supabase for authentication and data storage, Anthropic for AI-powered wine analysis, and Railway for backend infrastructure. Each service has its own privacy policy governing their handling of data.
Data Security
We implement reasonable security measures to protect your information. Your password is encrypted and never stored in plain text.
Data Retention
We retain your account and preference data for as long as your account is active. You may delete your account at any time by contacting us at the email below.
Children's Privacy
Palate is intended for users 17 and older. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 17.
